We have skin in the game Giles Capital manages a real portfolio of stocks. We're not just sharing our thoughts, but also sharing our decisions and timing.
We use a mix of strategies Although we specialise in value, we do not restrict ourselves to different types of investing e.g. dividend or growth investing. We use a mix of strategies to maximise capital growth over shorter and longer periods and act on opportunities if they are too good to miss.

What is value trading and investment?
Value investing is an investment strategy that looks at stocks that appear to be trading for less than their intrinsic or book value. Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger are probably the best-known value investors. Today’s value investing tends to be over longer time periods.
We also use a strategy which combines a shorter term value investment strategy much like Benjamin Graham’s (Buffett's professor and mentor) with a strategy that looks at global or macro, political, or country specific trends or events. We like to call this value trading.
This makes our portfolio versatile, whereby we have long term compounders, but also have dividend stocks and investments which have shorter time horizons. This enables us to have a steady steam of income to deploy and allows for greater flexibility in certain situations.
How have we performed?
We focus on the long term growth of capital, so we are not interested in the daily or monthly returns of our portfolio. For transparency (one of our core values), we will neither hide our performance either. Since the fund’s inception in summer 2020 to the time of this writing, our yield has been around 75.44% on allocated capital compared with a 34.24% of the S&P500.

We do the research We fanatically track stocks and perform investment research on company situation, cash flow and future.
We do bigger strategy We look at what’s happening in the world right now and how it may affect our investment ideas.
We do value We look at value in the short and longer term.
We do patience We wait as long as our thesis on each stock requires.
We do transparency We publish our gains and losses on a yearly and quarterly basis.
More about Giles Capital
We manage a small portfolio from Hong Kong and focus on value trading and investing. We also carry out in-depth research and build tools for research. In 2021, we decided to move to an open research approach that adds tools and external inputs to traditional financial research, creating a more transparency and allowing us to improve our research and tools with inputs from others.
